Caroline Kline

Caroline Kline is a graduate of Scripps College with an MA in classics from UC Santa Barbara. She is the co-founder of The Exponent blog and will begin the PhD program in women’s studies in religion at Claremont Graduate University in 2010.

Chelsea Shields StrayerChelsea Shields Strayer, a perpetual nomad, is currently living with her husband and newborn daughter in Balitmore, MD where she is finishing up her PhD dissertation in both biological and cultural anthropology from Boston University. She has spent much of her twenties living and working in Africa where she researches indigenous healing, religion, and rituals of the Asante in Ghana, West Africa. She has a bachelors degree from BYU and a masters degree from Boston University. Chelsea has been involved with Exponent II since 2005 and comes from a long line of LDS ancestry. Chelsea serves as a Relief Society instructor in her ward.

Elisabeth SmithElisabeth Smith lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son. She is a lifelong member of the LDS church and has served in many callings, including as Primary President and as a teacher in the Relief Society and Sunday School programs.  Elisabeth is an attorney who teaches at a local law school and practices non-profit law and immigration law.

Emily Clyde CurtisEmily Clyde Curtis lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and two sons where she teaches piano lessons to raise a new generation of ward pianists and serves in her ward’s Primary presidency. She is also the co-editor of Exponent II and blogs at The Exponent. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Religious Studies from the University of Arizona and has a Masters in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.

Jenne AlderksJenne Alderks, M.Ed., is the stay at home mother of two, a convert of eight years to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and serves as a ward missionary in Seattle, WA. She is Project Coordinator of Solace For Mothers, a non-profit organization providing support to mothers who have been traumatized by their childbearing experiences. Jenne also is an advocate for mother friendly maternity care, sustainable living and family friendly public policy.

Jessica Oberan SteedJessica Oberan Steed is a lifelong member of the LDS church and a native and current resident of Mesa, Arizona.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from BYU.  In addition to raising her 3 young sons with her husband Mark, Jessica serves as Nursery Leader and as the Vice President of the Arizona Hemophilia Association’s board of directors. Additionally, Jessica has been involved with the Exponent for several years, first writing for the blog, and now also serving on the staff of the Exponent II committee as a feature editor.  Her idea for WAVE was a combination of advocacy born of work with the bleeding disorders community and passion born of love for the Mormon feminist community.

Meghan Raynes MatthewsMeghan Raynes Matthews is a social worker and writer living in Denver, Colorado. As an advocate and counselor for victims of intimate partner abuse, Meghan previously worked as the Director of Domestic Violence Services and Case Manager for Autumn House Domestic Violence Shelter in Mesa, Arizona . She currently is a student at the University of Colorado-Denver, pursuing a Master’s of Public Administration with an emphasis in Domestic Violence Policy. Meghan also writes for The Exponent blog and serves on the editorial staff for the Exponent II magazine. In her spare time, Meghan nurtures her two, soon-to-be three, children, loves her husband and serves as Primary Chorister in her ward.

Stephanie Snyder lives in Washington, DC where she teaches high school English. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Illinois—Urbana/Champaign and an M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill. At UNC, she also taught Women’s Studies while doing Ph.D. work in English. She is passionate about music and sings in an area choir.

Tresa Edmunds is a writer and craft designer living in Modesto, CA with her husband and 3 year old son who has Cerebral Palsy. She has spent the last eight years working in all aspects of the Young Women program, and is dedicated to mentoring and serving teenagers. This interest prompted her to write for the blog BeginningsNew.blogspot.com, a blog for YW leaders.
